Prof. Robert John Coelen is an internationally recognized expert in the internationalisation of higher education with over three decades of experience in leadership, research, and teaching. As the former Director of the Centre for Internationalisation of Education at the University of Groningen and a former Professor of Internationalisation of Higher Education at NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences, Robert has been at the forefront of driving innovation and global engagement in education.With a strong focus on leveraging diversity as a resource, Robert has led numerous initiatives to promote intercultural competence, inclusive international classrooms, and curriculum internationalisation. His extensive research on topics such as international student mobility, transnational education, and the impact of internationalisation on employability has been widely published in academic journals and books.Throughout his career, Robert has held various leadership positions, including Vice-President International at Stenden UAS and Leiden University, and Executive Dean at Stenden University Qatar. He has also served as a visiting professor at prestigious institutions like East China Normal University and Tongji University in Shanghai.As a sought-after speaker and consultant, Robert has delivered keynote addresses, workshops, and seminars at hundreds of international conferences and institutions.
