I started my copy writing business in 2012, leaving behind a career as a civil servant to focus on what I’ve always loved – working with words.➡️Business Start-Up: Initially I named my business ‘Poetry Prints’. I built up a reputation for writing celebratory poetry and speeches. Usually these pieces were framed and illustrated to create a highly original and very personal gift that would have long lasting value for the recipient.➡️Business Development: Encouraged by entrepreneurs I met at networking events, I shifted the focus of the business to offer more specifically B2B copy writing services to other small businesses. I've previously thoroughly enjoyed working on a wide variety of contracts,including: drafting written content for clients’ websites, blogs, networking pitches and animated videos, and creating promotional material for an 80s & 90s Toy Fair and a regional food festival. ➡️Business Success:In 2016 I undertook white-label work, subcontracted to a very progressive Web Design and Video Animation company, successfully completing a series of larger well-paid contracts that significantly boosted my portfolio. Unfortunately in that same year, whilst poised to move my business forward again, I suffered a highly debilitating family crisis and, to all intents and purposes, did not regularly market my writing services again until early 2020 – then COVID 19 hit.➡️Business Renewal & Growth: I’m now rebuilding the business, adding a coaching, copy-editing and proofreading service to assist would-be authors to get their books written and published. I’ve just completed an e-book for a client in Business Coaching and have been developing and extending my network in the UK and the USAI remain committed to working across a wide range of market sectors, delivering #writingthatsfightingfit , to help your business win through, now and in the future!

Its all about your books!Whilst generalist copywriting and speech writing for weddings remains integral to my business offering, my focus is now on delivering author's services, under the working title of: The Book Pilot. Whilst continually increasing and improving my knowledge of the publishing industry, I am not a Literary Agent and do not claim to be such. The services I offer are targeted at chiefly first-time authors, who want a helping hand to get the book written, see it professionally edited and gain an understanding of where or by which route it might subsequently be published. Typically, if asked to try and secure a traditional Publisher - which is not a quick fix at any time- a portion of my fee will be reserved as a bonus payment, dependant on my success in securing a Publisher. I cannot and do not ever guarantee to find a Publisher for your work, as this would be disingenuous and misleading. A full Project Brief is always provided in advance, so you know exactly what you're getting from me, before any Contract is signed.
