I'm Robert Coral. I started working for IBM at the age of 19, back in 1997. After 12 years in the IT industry, I decided to ditch the corporate life and pursue my side hustle of breeding and selling Reptiles. To date, I’ve successfully bred over 60 different species of snakes, a dozen different species of geckos, various lizards, turtles, frogs, and countless invertebrate species.In 2009, my wife and I purchased an existing, 20-year-old reptile store whose owner was retiring. With a different vision, we immediately changed the name to, The Serpentarium. After analyzing the numbers, it was clear that many changes had to be made in order for the business to be profitable so we can scale it.We completely restructured the entire business model, transforming it from an attraction/destination that offered birthday parties, guided tours, etc. - with 5-figure revenue - to a full blown retail store where product and animal sales were the primary focus. This strategy proved to be the right move as it is now a 7-figure company.After two years of learning everything there was to learn about running a single reptile retail store, we decide to open a second location a couple towns away. Learning how to run two stores was a fun challenge that we quickly mastered.Somewhere along the way, I realized the need for new and better reptile products. After a year or so of manufacturers ignoring my product ideas, I decided to make my own products. That is when Lugarti was born (2014). Today, our Manufacturing company boasts over 300 SKU’s and is in many retail stores throughout the country.After two years of running two reptile stores, we opened store #3. Soon after, we opened store #4. With multiple locations, we were suddenly faced with having to master distribution logistics. That is when Reptile Supply Co was born. Our Distribution company offers over 60 different brands (largest selection in the world) and ships to multiple countries.A couple years later we opened store #5. At this point, all stores were within an hour of each other, in the Sacramento, California area. We then decided to challenge ourselves and opened store #6, in Texas.Fast forward to today, 2024, we are now offering The Serpentarium Franchise opportunities.Our mission is to help people avoid spending years having to figure everything out on their own, with a proven concept that will allow them to hit the ground running.We plan to have Serpentarium stores strategically scattered throughout the entire U.S.Feel free to contact me with any questions if you’re interested.Cheers!
