Assistant Dean of Administration, Director of the Multidisciplinary Gerontology Center and Associate Professor at Howard University School of Social Work.

Served as key management staff to the DCOA Executive Director (of the State Unit on Aging), directed day to day activities within the Office of the Executive Director. Directed staff and human resources issues on behalf of the Executive Director. Directed, identified, analyzed and coordinated policy issues, decisions and projects. Drafted grant proposals and secured grants. Promoted resource development, systems and staff retention, policies, and implementation of legislative initiatives. Undertook special assignments, briefed Executive Director and offered recommendations on inquiries, and sensitive positions. Prepared reports, provided clarity and understanding of issues and offered information on primary and alternative courses of action, as warranted.

I directed the administration of approximately $400M in Medicaid program services and support. I managed professional and administrative staff of twenty personnel, as well as provided regulatory oversight and management services.

I provided strategic advice, direction and oversight. I consulted with DCPCA leadership on issues affecting persons without medical homes including the disenfranchised that obtained care at Non Profit Health Clinics in Washington, D.C. As a DCPCA board member I also provided fiduciary oversight for grants and sought other support on behalf of the DCPCA.

As Program Associate I provided program management and support for three National Program units (the National Institute of Senior Centers; National Institute of Senior Housing; and the National Association of Older Worker Employment Services) with representatives from throughout the U.S..
