Robert Cupery, Founder of Aircraft Window Repairs (AWR) is the past Northrop Director of Maintenance. Born in Friesland, Wisconsin, Cupery left his tiny midwest town at a young age to accept a job with the California-based aviation company. The idea of repairing aircraft windows came to Robert when companies were paying out vast sums of money on a regular basis to purchase new windows. That is when Cupery first saw the need - over 30 years ago - and when he first developed and began constantly improving methods we use today. As a result his career with Northrop, precision had become a way of life for him and this is the principle philosophy of AWR. Cupery was both honored and privileged as the Flight Engineer under the pilot who flew Air Force One for former President Lyndon Johnson - where everything had to be adamantly PERFECT.
