Attorney specialized in International, Environmental and Regulatory Law, with experience in the public, private and intergovernmental sectors.I currently lead the environmental strategy area at Azerta, where we advise companies on strategic planning in regulatory and environmental matters. Our goal is to mitigate regulatory risks, participate in the development of new regulations or amendments to existing ones, strengthen project evaluations within the Environmental Impact Assessment System, provide support in the processing of sectoral permits, and facilitate the implementation of projects.Previously, I worked as Head of the Legislative and Regulatory Department of the Ministry of the Environment, leading the regulatory team in drafting Chile’s Climate Change Framework Law, environmental quality standards and emission standards, and waste collection and recycling obligations. Collaborated with other government bodies in reviewing and adjusting sectoral regulations related to water, fishing, and forestry resources. Acted as Focal Point for UNEP Montevideo Programme. Provided legal direction in the implementation of international commitments (Montreal Protocol, Paris Agreement, Madrid Protocol, among others).Postgraduate professor in matters related to environmental impact assessment, strategic environmental assessment, climate change, and environmental quality and emission standards. Research interest related to climate change, environmental assessment, circular economy, and water management.
