Mechanical design of cell phone signal filters, combiners, and splitters. Interfaced with Electrical Engineers on the overall concept and layout of the filters - taking their simulated cavity designs and stitching them together to form a complete filter. Created iterations of the filter cavity for the Electrical Engineers to run through their simulations in order to converge the design to desired specifications. Created mechanical drawing packages for initial prototype production and final production at the manufacturing facility in China. Processed and implemented DCN's to add functionality or correct defects in production designs and drawings.

I assist manufacturing personel with transition of new or modified products to production. I prototype manufacturing fixtures and develop and publish manufacturing processes. I am also tasked with developing, managing, and executing the ECO process. I interface with vendors for specification formulation and quality control. I draw up blueprints for updates and changes to existing products as well as R+D projects. I also maintain archival records of all engineering documents as well as maintain the engineering side of an MRP system.

I have been in charge of the design and production of 3 types of 3D rapid prototyping printers. These printers fabricate parts from CAD data out of a thermoplastic material using inkjet type printhead on an X/Y plotter mechanism with the added Z axis for the 3rd dimension. I have been in charge of every aspect of the design of the machines from conception, detailed drafting and computer modeling, parts and supplies procurement, assembly, test and debug, shipping, and both in-house and field technical support and service. In addition I have worked on some government research projects using RP technology as well as all the mechnical work on a contract with the US Navy to produce a windshield temperature controller for their S3 aircraft. I am well versed the use of all common powered and hand machine shop tools. I have very strong prototyping capabilities and I can create just about anything that I or others can think up of.

I machined parts according to blueprints on both a manual and 2-axis vertical knee milling machine in a job-shop environment. I have experince with all other types of common machine shop tools used in the rough cut and finish of the parts I made. I performed my own 1st level inspections as well as kept records of the time spent on each phase of the task for each part completed.
