CurrentDesigned, developed and established an Information Technology Department to serve an educational population of 450 employees and 2600 students with efficient management of technology for the school district to include IT, Security/Surveillance systems, Voice over IP (VOIP), telephone service, cell phones, audio/video and technology integration training.Power management software installed to monitor and control technology usage which allowed IT team to turn off computers and peripherals that were not being used. Reports generated from this initiative allowed team to analyze most used power and implement solutions to reduce usage. Achieved $1500.00 in savings the 1st year with predicted greater and future savings.Implemented use of periodic technology and security audits to provide unbiased view of organizations performance and security. Audits justified budgets to break through plateaus in the technology department. Security issues identified within the Junior High School infrastructure. 100% increase in end user technology over a 3 year period and decrease in IT staffing by 33%. Reduced workload on the department and experienced a 50% increase in computer administrative functions allowing more time for end user support.Spearheaded upgrade of Junior High School network infrastructure and designed the new infrastructure for data, phone, security and audio/video distribution. $150,000.00+ project completed in 6 months within budget.Cultivated key relationship with an East Coast ISP by negotiating an innovating plan to provide High-Speed Internet access to the organization and the public. Achieved a significant cost savings.Virtualized desktop to replace end user desktop computers at end of life with “Thin” and “Zero” clients. Experienced savings in hardware, reduction in energy use and improvements for end users.
