As a former student of the HZ University of Applied Sciences I hold a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering. During the first years of my career I did a post graduate education in Energy Management for industry and built environment (PHOE). Currently I am working as a project manager at the Sustainable Technologies for Industrial Processes group of TNO Energy Transition. Since 2012 I am doing research on waste heat utilization in industry by means of novel heat pump technologies, conversion of (waste) heat to electricity and cold, and electrification of industrial processes. Between 2007 and 2012 I was working as a research scientist in the group Energy in the Built Environment at ECN, where I focused on pathways and technologies for establishing a Dutch energy neutral built environment and was involved in projects on monitoring energy use in buildings. Earlier in my career I was working at ECN as a research engineer on thermoacoustic heat pumps and engines for industrial application and Stirling based micro-CHP engines for residential application. In 1997 I started my career as a research scientist at the System Assessment group of ECN, where I performed technical and economic analysis for a broad variety of energy conversion processes.
