He began as chaplain and ended as junior Vice President; he is currently President of the FRA. They serve in the community by donating to local veteran hospitals, sponsoring essay contents for high school students, and participating in the veteran’s parade.

His current responsibility at UPS is to manage and serve alongside coworkers in the output of product. Also, his collateral duties are comprehensive health and safety process, to educate and promote safety awareness among coworkers.

Mccreary County

Robert DeVore Jr. served in the school board. He helped identify weaknesses within the school system by conducting a scholastic audit; they then worked to resolve the weaknesses though school programs. For example, they created a reading program to increase greater literacy among students.

Louisville, Kentucky Area

Robert DeVore Jr. believes one of the major ways to make a difference in the community is through helping the growth of the church. His religious convictions led him to serve as deacon for five years and to continually support and serve in his church in Louisville.

Robert DeVore Jr. was the chaplain and eventually commander in the American Legion. American Legion gave Robert DeVore an opportunity to serve in the community. He was involved in holding patriotic events, along with memorial services at senior citizens centers and even once holding a beauty pageant at a senior citizen center.

Robert DeVore Jr. served on a ship USS Mahan DDG42 for three years. He was in first division where he contributed in ship maintenance. In 1977he joined a reserve unit and began MS3, where he cooked for the officers. He then relocated to Georgia where he became a 1st class petty officer. He retired in January of 1999.
