I am a Family Medicine Physician whose career has ranged from building a Private Medical Practice to Academic Medicine. I served as Residency Director for two family medicine programs and Vice Chair of the Department of Family Practice and Community Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical School. I also worked in the Pharmaceutical industry for six years as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) with Pfizer in the area of Diabetes and Obesity. In the past few years, although I enjoyed the travel, I have chosen to reduce the travel requirements of MSL work to be available for my sons in their formative years. During this time, I pursued additional training and worked in age management medicine as well as putting my energy into managing personal investments and real estate. More recently, as my sons are getting older, I am exploring opportunities to return to the Medical Science Liaison role. I enjoy the challenges and variety created by the transitions in my career. My primary care experience lead to a broad scientific and clinical knowledge base. My administrative experience allowed me to utilize and develop my leadership, communication, organization and networking skills. The Medical Science Liaison role is a natural fit with my career interests and experience. I enjoy developing new relationships, networking, working with teams to coordinate strategy and solve problems, staying abreast of the most recent research, explaining and analyzing complex medical issues, discussing important developments with key opinion leaders and helping disseminate new and important information to improve patient care.
