As a business leader with more than 25 years’ experience, I have been fortunate to acquire diverse skills in project management, outreach and marketing. I have a blend of experiences with higher education, larger matrix corporate organizations, small businesses and a pseudo-public economic development agency. As Director of the Tioga County Tourism Office, I reported directly to the President of the Tioga County Local Development Corporation, who also served as the Director of Economic Development. It was in that time that I learned the value of small businesses to communities, and I specialized in providing resources to help tourism businesses grow and expand in the local area. My accomplishments within Sodexo, particularly at Binghamton University, drove business growth and allowed me to experience business partnerships from a corporate perspective. My small business experience with the Holiday Inn Binghamton Downtown emphasized the importance of local partnerships between business, economic development agencies, municipalities, and small business advocacy organizations.I love what I do with the Onondaga Community College Small Business Development Center. Helping small businesses is a passion for me. The experience of connecting entrepreneurs to lenders and economic development agencies to achieve their goals is extremely rewarding. In working to help small businesses, I have placed an emphasis on outreach with business groups, lenders and economic development agencies as a way to promote our services and the value we bring as an agency to the community.
