Enrolled into Fiserv Military-Affiliated Project Management as a military trainee. This six-week intensive training program develops Project Management skills in communication, teamwork, leadership, and all processes/tasks within project management. I worked within teams to create a capstone project from initiation to closure. Utilizing all the skills I have learned, I was placed within the Prototype and Research and Development team to assist in developing an asset management database to track the life cycle of all equipment related to the production of the physical product. • DATABASE DEVELOPMENT: Assisted in the design and development of SQL database and Power BI Dashboard to expedite and manage production floors productivity planning, optimizations, and maintenance of all equipment related to production. The team identified hundreds of unique components and dozens of operating configurations; our solution increased transparency and improved accuracy and consistency for other management teams for their planning and capabilities reports.• INVENTORY/ASSET MANAGEMENT: Starting from scratch, a teammate and I worked on researching and finding all data related to production to develop a comprehensive database, working with multiple stakeholders on various levels in a corporate environment and working with the production floor to acquire materials such as lease agreements, equipment capabilities, specialized industrial equipment, serialized information, and labeling and categorizing components traits and abilities.

Operating the Single Engine Air Tanker (SEAT) Base as part of the aviation crew, performing basic maintenance tasks, including groundskeeping, runway operations, tanker operations, and fire-retardant pumping systems, and acquiring foundational knowledge in Wildland Firefighting and Aviation Operations, including the initiation process. Core training focused on Standard Firefighting Orders, Watch Out Situations, Lookouts, Communications, Escape Routes, and Safety Zones (LCES).• SEAT BASE OPERATIONS: I perform essential maintenance in SEAT Base Operations to ensure optimal base functionality. I collaborate with the SEAT Base Manager and State Aviation Officer on morning safety briefings and assist with the facility development. In doing so, I enhance capabilities and safety for air operations. I ensure the swift load and deployment of SEAT planes within 15 minutes and reload within 5 minutes.• OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT: I developed critical management skills such as Risk Assessments, Team Collaboration, Time Management, and Adaptability. Applying what I am learning with on-the-job, real-world work in an ever-changing, time-sensitive, challenging environment.

As a Project Intern, I learned how Nebraska prepares and responds to disasters from Long-Term Recovery Specialists, Training Specialists, and Planning Specialists. I received hands-on training and work experience on various projects and programs, expanding my knowledge of the state's role and vision in developing a "resilient state built upon inclusive collaboration and communication."• PUBLIC INFORMATION DISSEMINATION: I developed a flood disaster presentation on flood disaster-specific challenges, mitigation, response, and preparedness steps that individuals and families can take to minimize the impact. The objective of this project was to inform the public about floodplains and how to prepare for different situations, such as power outages, flood damage, and the financial challenges they could have.• PROGRAM MANAGEMENT/CERT PROGRAM: My objective was to learn and expand upon the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program and assist the State Citizen Corps Coordinator in promoting it. I assisted with developing the learning material and organizing essential gear given to CERT members, and I trained in CERT's teaching of "Do the greatest good for the greatest number of people."

As an Armed Security Officer, I was responsible for securing a campus with three interconnected facilities, ranging from a preschool to offices. I was in charge of the campus's opening and closing process and ensuring security during regular operating hours by utilizing security doors, cameras, foot patrols, car patrols, and escorts to detour internal and external threats to the facility's security and individuals' safety.• REPORTS: During and after an event/incident, my role was to ensure security and safety and keep an accurate record of what transpired for public emergency services and management, as well as for company records and evaluations. I sized up situations and identified the events that transpired beforehand to improve security, maintained a history of events to determine what happened, and developed a timeline.• EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT/SERVICES: As an Armed Security Guard, one of my responsibilities is ensuring the operation and serviceability of equipment such as first aid kits, AED defibrillators, and security doors. In addition to basic handgun training and qualification, I was trained in First Aid/CPR/AED for Adults and Children due to the presence of a gym and preschool on the campus. I was to ensure that the campus had all the equipment available to render the best possible aid as an initial responder.
