I worked with a great team to advance the mission of advancing the love and learning of music through the uniquely excellent artistic talent at the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra. Charitable gifts to SLSO exceeded annual goals and helped to assure the Orchestra could continue to provide and expand the absolute finest musical and educational performances and programs. Additional major gift fundraising was also secured in a capital campaign for a new $100 million facility.

I was responsible for the fund raising efforts for MU Healthcare (Hospitals and Clinics), the MU School of Medicine, Sinclair School of Nursing, School of Health Professions, Thompson Center for Autism and Neurological Disorders, and the College of Veterninary Medicine. I also shared oversight fund raising responsibility for NextGen Precision Medicine - the largest capital project in University of Missouri history. In addition, I sat on the Mizzou Advancement Leadership Team and worked with my colleagues to create a collaborative and successful culture and winning strategies. I am proud that I played a part in crafting new major gift officer metrics which resulted in very significant performance improvements in donor visits, proposals presented, and a record fund raising year for the division in FY2019.

Gonser Gerber has provided comprehensive advancement consulting services to non-profits since 1950, including search services for development professionals.In January 2016, I moved to the role of Executive Director of Gonser Gerber Search and lead the formal venture in the executive search marketplace. Gonser Gerber provides outstanding retained executive search services to non-profits with a focus on advancement/development leader positions. Utilizing deep fund raising networks and client-focused tradition, Gonser Gerber produces outstanding results for clients. In leading this effort, I utilized my 25 year non-profit and development executive and consulting career to bring incisive skills in assessing institutional culture and needs and producing a professional search results that affected program trajectory.

I provided advancement/fund-raising counsel to dozens of non-profit organizations including universities, colleges, schools, health care organizations, and other non-profits. Services included campaign readiness, campaign consulting, audits and assessments, board education, staff development, planned giving counsel, and general development program consulting. I have extensive experience in annual fund, major gift, grateful patient, alumni, planned giving, strategic planning, and volunteer management. I taught many workshops and webinars on topics such as moves management, discovery, solicitation, stewardship, board recruitment, board orientation, board assessment, staff recruitment and retention, team building, planned giving, and campaigns.

I was a volunteer board member for the fund raising profession's primary credential, the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and served on the Executive Committee as Secretary/Treasurer in my final two years. I am very proud of the profession and the credential which successfully recognizes professional competency.

I oversaw the team that planned and completed a first-ever comprehensive campaign and was responsible for raising $35 million. Quadrupled size of annual donor base. Tripled physician giving. Created employee giving campaign that ultimately raised $1.5 million. Reported to CEO and was also responsible to the Development Foundation Board of Directors. Managed a large volunteer corps including a very active Auxiliary with multiple business outlets including a charitable guest house for patient families.

Assisted VP in accomplishing $25 million campaign goal. Managed portfolio of major gift prospects. Worked with heart institute, eye institute, and burn center to further fund raising goals. Responsible for management of up to 14 FTE's at end of tenure.
