My record of turnarounds, profitable growth, innovation and acquisitions is extensive in public and private-equity-owned companies in Canada and the U.S. My leadership experience and my board roles encompass start-ups to industry leaders, and include manufacturing and distribution businesses serving a broad range of markets such as construction, infrastructure, building products, steel fabrication, agriculture, and oil and gas. After 8 years as CEO of Strongco, my aim now is to add value, as CEO or on the board, overcoming obstacles, developing a strategy, and determining the actions necessary to realize the strategy. I would love, once again, to step into a turnaround situation. In my time at the helm of Strongco, we restructured, rebranded and repositioned the business strongly in the market place with a new customer-focused organization, new and upgraded branches and, most recently, a newly installed SAP business system as the foundation for future growth. Most importantly, there is now an outstanding leadership team capable of taking the company through the challenges of a difficult economic environment, and positioned to aggressively grow as markets return to more normal levels.My approach to team-building has led to successful culture change, blending the talents of technology experts and experienced industry veterans, organizational restructuring, product innovation, integrating acquisitions, deepening relationships with customers, suppliers, banks and other stakeholders in order to create profitable growth. I am keenly interested in board roles. In addition to my current position as a director and member of the Audit Committee for Contech Engineered Solutions, I am seeking opportunities to apply my experience in construction markets (residential and non-residential), multi-divisional manufacturing, distribution and service companies, and steel-based manufactured products and distribution.
