Mentors in the JHTV NEST program provide a particular perspective or expertise that can be of value to an inventor/group of inventors and volunteer to ad-hoc engagements. Past consultations have informed major development and business decisions and occasionally lead to long-term relationships. Members of the NEST have also participated as speakers, judges and donors – all critical contributions to our thriving campus ecosystem.

In August 2013 I founded Whitebox, which uses technology, data science, and unique processes to improve ecommerce advertising and logistics. It raised $55M in venture capital and created hundreds of jobs in three states. Whitebox continues to grow and offer best in class ecommerce tools. I worked as the CEO of Whitebox, tackling finances, product development, human resources, advertising, and operations as the company grew to the point where we could hire expert specialists for each of those roles.

I focus on automating Mp3car and finding new ways to grow our business. Since co-founding Mp3car, I’ve helped to grow it into the largest vehicle computing website in the world. My active involvement with an ecommerce business gives me key perspective for my work with other Whitebox clients.

I planned the Ideas to Actions part of the TED/TEDx Global Summit, a gathering of 600 TEDx organizers from 100 countries. TED/TEDx Actions were intended to spark actionable solutions to the problems discussed at global TEDx gatherings. Several of the projects started at the TED/TEDx Global Summit are still in action today.

My responsibilities for the O’Malley/Brown campaign included online ad buying, technology infrastructure planning, mobile phone communications and advertising, digital video production, and social media strategy. I grew the largest Facebook following of any incumbent in the 2010 race, and made technology decisions to streamline operations and engage donors. With a great candidate and a team of talented co-workers and volunteers, we won the election by a record setting 14 percentage points.

The group will meet at least twice each year and make recommendations to the state’s Legislature. The law also mandates that open data be released to the public in multiple machine readable formats.The Council’s formation follows the enactment of two executive orders by Gov. Martin O’Malley that created Maryland’s open data portal and launched a working group to improve transparency in the state. O’Malley signed SB 644 into law earlier this month."

I founded Innovative Technology in 1997 to integrate and support digital radiography and EMR as well as the IT systems of hundreds of other businesses. The company is still operating today; I serve mainly as a silent owner though I stay up-to-date with the large strokes of technology in healthcare.
