Professor Freer is a nationally recognized expert on enterprise leadership and the preservation of the founding values of our Republic. He brings a rich background in government, law, corporate management practices and years of highly successful experience in academia. His books and more than 250 editorials share his experience and wisdom on a continuing basis with a growing public audience.Recently retired from The Citadel, Professor Freer continues to serve as an Adjunct Professor of Law (Antitrust) at The Charleston School of Law. During his career he has been a federal government trial attorney, assistant to two Chairman at The FTC and The General Counsel at The Department of Transportation. Selected by Kimberly-Clark Corporation to be its Washington Counsel, he became its youngest V.P. responsible for environmental compliance, energy management, government relations and regulatory law. Before entering academia, he was in private practice in Washington DC for twenty years as a partner of a number of prominent firms including Patterson Belknap Webb and Tyler and for his own midsized firm. Professor Freer is widely hailed for his publications, and is the founder of The Washington Metropolitan Area Corporate Counsels Association, The Free Enterprise Foundation, The Washington Episcopal Day School, The Board of Visitors for Regent University Law School, and is co-founder of The Republican National Lawyers Association and The U.S. Cuba Business Council. He was appointed by President Reagan to the President’s Commission on White House Fellowship, and served on a number of corporate and charitable boards.
