Led product management team at Trymedia. Responsible for white label game channels on major sites (including AOL and Yahoo! properties), e-commerce, real-time analytics, game distribution network (thousands of games, hundreds of sites) and digital distribution tools. Introduced structured management of requirements and products. Developed a repeatable release process with operations and engineering. Integrated Trymedia and Macrovision products and teams to create a unified solution for both digital and physical distribution. Macrovision is now Rovi, Flexera Software and part of Real Networks.

Responsible for sourcing, technical analysis and due diligence for M&A activity including application deployment, peer-to-peer monitoring and license management. Completed acquisitions included eMeta, InstallShield, Trymedia and Zero G. Contributed to strategic planning and patent interference case with InterTrust. Worked with ContentGuard and MPEG-21 on DRM standardization. Speaker at Game Developers Conference.

P&L leader for consumer ESD product (SafeCast). Led product management, engineering and support teams. Grew product from negligible revenue to over $4MM by focusing on product activation. Licensed technology to Adobe, Apple, Intuit, Macromedia and Microsoft establishing market leadership. SafeCast won a CODiE award. Following this success the product was merged with FLEXlm (acquired with GLOBEtrotter Software) to form a new Software division at Macrovision. Partnered with Digital River and element 5 to launch Microsoft Software Jukebox.

Authored market and product requirements (MRDs/PRDs) for Consumer Software Division products. Managed US engineering team and worldwide support team (US, UK, Japan) for the division. Developed web based hosted license delivery service used by many game publishers. Deployed CRM system and metrics, which improved customer satisfaction and support response time.

Relocated to California to set up US Ç-Dilla office. Hired and managed pre and post sales support team. Major wins with Electronic Arts and Microsoft established market leadership position for SafeDisc, eventually used on hundreds of millions of units. Ç-Dilla was acquired by Macrovision due to the success of SafeDisc.

Managed quality assurance, technical support, sales support and IT functions. Responsible for 24/7 operation of hosted e-commerce service with customers ranging from Software Warehouse to Lot Polish Airlines. Built relationships with APACS and Barclays Card Services to improve fraud detection. Launched SafeDisc product (CD-ROM copy protection) including local beta test community and in-house robotic test platform for large scale hardware regression testing.

Ported encryption and license generation tools to Solaris and HP-UX. Developed “bag of bits” self-extractor for electronic software distribution (ESD) and tiered installer for products using network license management. Also developed 16/32 bit bootstrap technology for single binary distribution. Consulted with UK Department of Trade and Industry on cryptography policy, specifically export restrictions.

Pre and post sales support for encryption, compression and license management software. Authored all product documentation. Developed Windows and Mac multimedia launchers. Devised and implemented Adobe PDF encryption plug-in. Developed, launched and maintained company web site.

Developed software for robotic semiconductor analysis systems (electrostatic discharge, latchup and thermal resistance testing). Massively reduced support costs with an innovative approach to porting key tools from DOS to Windows. Implemented test vector package for AMD K5 processor. Verifier was acquired by Thermo Electron, now part of Thermo Fisher Scientific.
