I am an accomplished technology evangelist with business sense and a passion for building highly scalable cloud based web applications backed by polyglot database architectures. I'm well versed in the whole AWS technology stack as well as, NoSQL (MongoDB since version 1.6), BigData systems like Snowflake (high performance, build for the cloud big data store), Hadoop (Cloudera), columnar data systems (Vertica, Redshift,Infobright), as well as traditional database technologies like MS SQLServer, Oracle, and MySql. My preferred development methodology is Dual Track Scrum by SVPG, my favorite architecture are scalability Cubes by AKF. Most recently I've lead the implementation of Snowflake at Snagajob and I'm currently a member of the Snowflake customer council. Snowflake enabled Snagajobs talent to focus on building applications rather than maintaining infrastructure. Before that I've lead a team of 5 highly experienced engineers on a full lifecycle 100% AWS implementation project. The goal was to migrate the infrastructure (~ 500 VMs) from an in-house VM based platform into 100% AWS. This included replacement of bare metal load balancers and security systems with ELBs and common WAF technologies, PaaS solutions like ES (replacing Splunk), application scaling via ASG, RDS for relational repository databases, and of course migrating 25 TB of data in Vertica & Hadoop (Cloudera), as well as multiple mongodb clusters ontop of 60 data nodes. I've a proven success record in multiple applications domains from shop floor automation for multi-billion dollar companies to building horizontally scalable data management (OLTP) and BigData (Analytics) platforms for web based startups. I've managed international project teams in multiple geographical locations, as well as held director level positions. Last but not least I've successfully managed multi-million dollar projects with exceptional accuracy on cost, timelines, and quality.
