As of March 2020, I completed 41 years in the oil refining business; 32 with Sunoco Refining and Marketing and 9 with PBF Energy. Two thirds of this time has been in refinery process engineering and operations engineering, refinery economics and production planning and execution in the Northeast U.S. and U.S. Midcontinent refining network. I have been in the commercial trading area for about 16 years in foreign and domestic crude supply plus natural gas.I have been a participant in or managed many sectors of the refining business, including capital program analysis and management, refinery expense management, LP development and refinery optimization, turnaround planning, single refinery and multi-refinery oil flow planning as analyst and manager, third party commercial contract management and negotiation, corporate strategic planning as analyst and manager, commodity trading and risk management, and other areas.I was principal to major business transitions within Sunoco and PBF, consolidating existing structure or creating new functions. At PBF, I have been involved with the integration of new refineries into the PBF system. In the course of my trading and supply duties at PBF, I gained first hand, in-depth experience in the administrative, staff fact-finding, and legal processes of the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in the oil sector.At PBF in Commercial Optimization, I produced an initial position analysis for senior management, in coordination with commercial, maritime, refining optimization, and consulting resources, on the implications, risks and opportunities of the IMO 2020 bunker fuel regulation for the PBF enterprise.In March 2020 I concluded my career as Senior Director at PBF for Domestic Crude Supply, responsible to conclude supply transactions and coordinate the ~$3 billion dollar per year crude supply program for the Toledo refinery, including both trade and supply logistics. For the majority of the last 18 years with Sunoco and PBF Energy, I have held a management position and so have been involved with all facets of organizational management.
