I've always been a geek. I was a geek before being a geek was cool, In high school instead of going to drinking parties, me and my friends would hold LAN parties. We'd setup Linux game servers and snipe each other with rail guns all weekend. After High School I was employed for 5 years in the Marine Corps as an intelligence analyst. The intel portion of the job was fun, I love analytic thinking like that, but I was always drawn to applying my analytical skills on the intel systems. After I separated from the Marines I spent a year as a web application developer. Developing is fun. I love to write code, and do so mostly using Python to automate tasks, but again, I was drawn toward the systems and the networking. At this point I realized that my true passion was networking and systems engineering. I also have a soft spot for open source. At Pharmacy OneSource, I was in a unique position to be able to obtain hands on experience with many varying enterprise datacenter technologies. I helped to architect, implement, and maintain multiple UCS and VMware systems tied together using Cisco ASA and Nexus technologies. My experience doesn't stop with networking. I also have 8 years of experience managing Microsoft technologies like IIS, AD, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, and WDS. Ultimately I want to find a position doing datacenter network engineering and open source server administration. I like command lines, I like scripting, I like to tinker. I love to find solutions to problems, and I absolutely love learning new things.
