I have a broad span of technical and business experience, comprising mechanical engineering in the public sector; planning in the National Computer Board (now part of IMDA) during the pioneering years of computerisation in the Civil Service of Singapore; leading a software start-up with international R&D and sales operations, leading sales and business development in various regional and global IT companies, and mentoring deep-tech start-ups in business development.I am currently industry mentor to R&D teams to move their innovations from lab to market under the Singapore MIT Alliance for Research and Technology programme.At IMRE, my mission was to advocate to SMEs the adoption of our expertise in materials research and engineering in their transformation to the future economy. A*STAR's Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) has a unique combination of R&D capabilities in materials science, commercial partnerships and strategic alliances. As a certified PEAKS consultant, I am qualified to employ the PEAKS profiling technology (see www.researchcommunication.com) to teach, coach and conduct workshops to enhance individual and team leadership skills.
