Senior Engineer
CurrentResponsible for reverse engineering uninterruptible power supply equipment, and developing instruction manuals for the repair technicians. This includes disassembling the equipment, creating assembly drawings and schematics, and making engineering changes to extend the equipment lifetime and improve reliability. I design aftermarket parts to replace originals that are either unavailable or unreliable, and work with vendors to manufacture the parts for us. These may be made from stamped or machined steel, or from injection molded or 3D printed plastic. As part of the re-certification process, failure analysis is performed, circuits are modified when necessary, and replacements for obsolete components are identified and installed, ensuring reliability approaching that of new equipment. I also develop custom modifications to meet unique customer requirements, for example marine applications or locations with non-standard power sources. My other responsibilities include developing specialized electronic test equipment to improve the efficiency of the diagnostic and repair process, and custom tooling to aid in assembly/disassembly As a result of my contributions, Greenlight UPS has become a leading repair service and reseller for UPS equipment by providing economical and reliable UPS solutions for our customers.
