Typically I have been engaged in activities where innovative technological change is one of the key ingredients.At Scottish Futures Trust, I am part of a team whose role is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of future digital infrastructure investment by the government through working collaboratively with public bodies and industry. This involves trying to predict the future digital connectivity landscape, which, in all likelihood, satellite communications technologies are going to play an ever stronger role.In my previous role within the rail industry, I was recognized for promoting and then delivering the vital move to modern optical IP transmission systems, which was challenging at times in a (probably rightly) conservative industry that holds an excellent safety record in recent times.
