CellectGen is developing the first decentralized saliva-based, point-of-care (POC) screening test for measuring and monitoring periodontal disease activity in the market. This platform technology will help clinicians identify and mitigate disease risk and improve clinical outcomes, which will contribute to reducing costs and enhancing care for the public.

You’ve launched your startup with a game-changing technology you and your co-founders have developed. That’s the easy part. The cap table basically provides key stakeholders in your company with the proverbial ‘crystal ball’ that gives you a snapshot of your position over time as a function of various assumed milestones and investments. I help founders and startups figure out and put these metrics into perspective. Founded FLOZ (http://flozinc.com) with a singular goal of developing an array of consumer-based hydration technologies — i.e., purification and flow meter — for various consumer-based applications such as outdoor activities or long distance cycling. Also developed and commercialized a dietary supplement targeted for bone and cardiovascular health.

N-Abl Therapeutics focuses in the development of protein kinase nanosensors to facilitate in vivo screening of candidate drugs targeted towards protein kinases, specifically in areas of oncology and inflammation.

Recruited at HEI as a temporary scientist, but quickly rose and assumed a director-level role championing a variety of business and research-critical projects, including proposing and managing new initiatives especially in areas of translational medicine. I also speareaded the writing and reviewing the technical aspects of grants and development of cross collaborations with industry partners.

Under immense developmental and quality challenges, spearheaded the gene expression-driven discovery of high-value inflammation targets. Succedded in commercializing 4 genetically engineered reagents, based on the company’s proprietary Enzyme Complementation Assay for such targets. Hired and led an Assay Development Group comprised of 2 Ph.D and 3 technicians.

Worked with a cross-collaborative team of chemists, engineers and biologists at Agilent to design, improve, and implement novel methods of hybridization, nucleic acid amplification, and labeling using Agilent’s proprietary DNA in-situ microarrays for gene expression profiling.
