Developed a third party joint venture to offer end-to-end corporate satellite broadband solutions. At conclusion of role in December 2017, the company had cash of $15M in the bank. ► Acquisitions & Investments: Leveraged the opportunity created by the advent of the National Broadband Network (NBN Co) in Australia and led negotiations to secure $100M NBN Co. Ltd contract. Initiated and negotiated the acquisition of Orion Satellite Systems for $6.5M and managed ongoing integration into IPSTAR. Appointed Director of Orion Satellite Services in 2014. ► Leadership: Managed Finance and Administration division, which included HR and legal. Implemented sound financial practices and controls, built capability and performance, and drove forward focused, strategic approach within team. ► Financials: Maintained banking covenants and repaid loans of US$7.5m ahead of schedule, and managed working capital.

Recruited to develop and implement financial strategy in conjunction with the group’s mid-term plan. Led a team of 100 and introduced financial controls and discipline, which improved performance. Reduced costs and working capital, and increased awareness of corporate. During this period the company grew from $145M to $175M revenue, and KMBSA took over, integrating a separate KM printer business in October 2008.► Leadership: Managed a team of 100, which was comprised of finance, accounts, contract administration, operations and information technology personnel. Built capable, high performing teams and combatted staff turnover within the credit department by reducing invoice-to-payment cycle and non-collection times. ► Reporting: Developed strategic reporting including flash reports and rolling forecasts, focused on key business metrics. ► Loans: Reduced loans of $18M, which was close to the maximum facility in 2006, to a zero balance by March 2008 via debtor and stock reduction programs. ► Debt: Decreased debt from an average of $31.5M to $24.2M in a period when revenue increased from $150M to $175M.► Consolidation: Improved profitability via consolidation of suppliers and negotiation of national agreements. Savings included $200K in telephony and $30K (10%) in electricity. ► Technology: Led successful SAP R/3 development and upgrade from BW to BI. ► Dispute Resolution: Negotiated win-win settlement (at minimal cost) to resolve two-year long customer dispute, overcoming the need for legal action. Through settlement and improved communication, generated over $600 in converted leads for Konica Minolta.

Appointed to create finance function in preparation for the introduction of the Financial Services Reform Act (Australian SOX) and prepare the business for a trade sale. Developed and implemented sound commercial management practices and processes across all facets of the business; led back office risk and controlled trust accounts, the collection of claims monies and ensured transparency for underwriters. Managed shareholder expectations and maximised value leading up to the trade sale. ► Financial Systems: Created highly effective, compliant financial policies and procedures, including the introduction of accrual accounting and timely management reporting, within five days of month end. ►Treasury: Instigated a Treasury Management system to maximise return on cash holdings and doubled interest returns through efficiency and growth to $250K per annum.► Claims: Slashed annual audit and accounting costs by >50% to $30K, and reduced audit sign off from 11 to four months from year end.► Growth: Oversaw expansion from two to five operating units, and doubled Gross Written Premium (GWP) to $25M.► Licencing: Successfully obtained Financial Services Licence (FSRA) and implemented appropriate monitoring systems including cash (PS166) and risk management.

As Chief Financial Officer with Zest Health Clubs Pty Ltd, managed financials and reported results to senior management team and Board. Implemented strategic plan of a health club consolidator and acquired the largest chain of clubs in Qld, SA and WA. Hired and led finance team and centralised function in NSW, overseeing finance, payroll, IT, call centre operations, and established third party relationships with bankers, accountants, lawyers and finance brokers. Acquired 34 health clubs and generated revenue exceeding $36M per annum; centralised finance function, halved staff and reduced monthly costs by $500K (12.5%); negotiated increased banking facilities securing an extra $2M and decreased bank charges on credit card facilities by 10%; negotiated and managed 40 property leases; and successfully implemented SQL server, ERP and payroll systems for 550 staff.

Raised $1.5M debt capital for Designer Technology to enable the purchase of Hypertec Ltd PC conveyor equipment; and advised and negotiated the sale of Maxwell Food Products Ltd, and performed as Non-Executive Director during earn-out period.

As a Senior Consultant, managed corporate finance, government and special assignments, which incorporated financial modelling, valuations, due diligence, investigation of accountant and independent expert reports, listings acquisitions and disposals. Seconded to Roads & Traffic Authority of NSW (RTA) for three years as the only Accountant on the award-winning DRIVES (drivers licence and vehicle registration) project. Successfully developed RTA’s financial system as part of strategy to introduce one-stop shopping. Reduced customer transaction time by >30 minutes, decreased the number of motor registries by one third and slashed annual costs by >$7M to provide a three-year payback. M&A included sale/privatisation of South West Slopes Electricity, acquisition for Harrington Group (ASX listed)
