During 40 years as a trial lawyer, I have served as lead counsel on more than 175 jury trials, making me the go-to attorney at Wilson Elser in DC for high-exposure medical malpractice suits. I head the Medical Malpractice & Health Care practice in Washington, DC, which has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America as a Tier I law firm in the area of medical malpractice. For 15 consecutive years, I have been included as one of The Best Lawyers in America in medical malpractice. I represent the largest group of physicians in the DC area and defend medical and professional malpractice suits on behalf of physicians and most types of health care organizations and facilities. I also represent health care professionals in disciplinary and privileging matters. In addition, I have a good deal of experience in other areas of complex litigation, including medical devices, product liability and legal malpractice. I frequently lecture and conduct seminars on risk management issues for various professional groups. I really enjoy returning to Notre Dame Law School and teaching in the Trial Advocacy program (as well as attending the football games).
