Medtronic is the world’s largest medical technology company. The Medtronic Tempe Campus has expertise in research, design, development, manufacturing, and analysis of Medtronic’s implantable microelectronic medical devices. To ensure successful continued execution and rapid business growth I have been building a Program Management Office (PMO). Key initiatives being implemented include: 1) Efficient and thorough bidding processes 2) Robust risk management and lessons learned processes 3) Simple predictive metrics 4) In-depth cross-functional Project Reviews 5) Project Manager mentoring and training 6) 'System based' project execution/monitoring versus ad-hoc disparate tool solutions 7) Quality and process compliance driven through functional area ownership

Successfully led multiple simultaneous proposal efforts ranging from $1 million up to $14 million. Led strategic internal development of enhanced product for existing and newly identified markets. Key team member implementing rollout of new ERP system. Provided education and mentoring on program management processes.

Successfully planned and led the execution of internal and customer funded strategic projects ranging from $100K to $60 million with teams of 5 to 50. Developed detailed program execution plans and managed overall cost, schedule, quality and technical performance. Conducted programmatic and technical reviews with team, management and customers to communicate detailed status including: risks and mitigation, earned value, deliverables, defects, requirements, staffing, subcontract status, IP strategy, technical performance measures and project support to meet sales and profit goals.Advised and educated project leaders to ensure proper training and tools were in place for efficient/effective project management. Served as subject matter expert for project planning and execution, process improvements, project support, mentoring, training and tool development. Created and implemented integrated strategies, processes and procedures to manage the membership of a unique industry-leading initiative for open sourcing where industry and academia collaborate to quickly deliver new technologies to users in need.

Demonstrated success as: 1- designer of digital circuits, printed wiring boards, gate arrays and multi-chip modules; 2- test engineer including plan/procedure development, testing (unit, system, environmental, EMI/C, acceptance and field); 3- system engineer including requirements development, design, specifications, trade studies, design reviews, market surveys, and statement of work development. Successfully planned and led small engineering projects. Awarded two patents and co-authored one publication. Awarded membership in the Motorola Scientific and Technical Society for significant technical contributions.
