Laboratory-experienced through the International Undergraduate Summer School at the John Innes Centre (JIC) contributing to research on iron homeostasis in plants and having applied techniques in bacterial cell culture, PCR, DNA sequencing, western blotting, biomolecule purification and characterisation.Alongside my degree, I work part-time as a centre assistant at BS3 Community Development to enrich myself in the local community and support the charity in its initiative to help members of the public facing personal challenges.I also have an interest in education and teaching, having volunteered as a long-term personal tutor at Tutor The Nation teaching A-level Biology and shadowing the science department at Bristol Cathedral Choir School.
