I’m Grant Thornton UK’s Head of Industries. I help our teams unlock growth by delivering quality assurance, tax, and advisory services to our chosen markets and bring our firmwide capabilities to target sectors. My responsibilities also include leading on our international offering – connecting our clients with other member firms across the Grant Thornton global network.Grant Thornton has given me so many opportunities and I want to ensure that these are available to everyone, so I’m proud to co-lead the ethnicity and cultural heritage strand of our inclusion and diversity initiatives.I joined the firm in 1989 and was appointed partner in 1998. In 2007 I was promoted to managing partner for Scotland before going on to serve as Head of Regions and then Head of Client Delivery, and most recently Head of Large & Complex.

  Robert joined Grant Thornton in 1989 and after qualifying went on a secondment to a seed capital fund for 18 month's before returning to the firm's corporate finance team. On being appointed as a Partner in 1998 Robert moved to the firms Edinburgh office to establish its corporate finance team and lead the engagement on some of the offices largest audit clients. In 2007 Robert's focus shifted to key clients whilst also being promoted to Managing Partner for Scotland. In 2011 Robert joined the UK leadership board as Head of Regions, became Head of Operations in 2015 and is currently Head of our Large Corporate and Complex Assignment business. He was appointed the Global head of the Strategic Growth Market programme for Grant Thornton International in 2018 supporting the strategy and growth of the network's member firms in 13 of the fastest growing markets. He now leads the firms Industry, Proposition and Channels programme to enhance the breadth of capability offered to our clients.
