Post-acquisition transition role focused on Engineering integration of GeoTime into PenLink. Responsible for the integration of people, processes and product while ensuring uninterrupted product releases.

Working alongside the CEO and COO I played a key role in selling the GeoTime business. I participated in management presentations, ran technical deep dives, waded through the depths of due diligence, and negotiations leading to a successful acquisition of GeoTime by PenLink Inc in Fall 2022.Prior to acquisition I led the product/UX and engineering teams (14 people), responsible for strategic direction and ultimately the successful delivery of four products in the public safety and digital investigations space. My primary drivers were bringing value to customers, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, and ultimately increasing the value of the business. Through this I often found myself in front of (potential) customers, helping close sales and build confidence in our brand.Finally, it was important to me to stay deeply connected with the technology we were building. I actively participated in code reviews, took turns with my team on the front-lines of technical support and incident response was able to make substantial direct contributions to our code. One of my biggest contributions was building an ETL micro-service in Python to handle hundreds of unique proprietary data formats.

At Uncharted I was responsible for leading four talented product teams through the full software development lifecycle. We were small and agile so this had me wearing many hats: customer-facing product vision, software architect and systems design, recruiter, presenter and trainer, pre-sales, operations and deployment, process engineering, and product owner.In addition to my role in Uncharted's product department, I also had the opportunity to lead a couple of interesting services/research projects - one in anti-money laundering (AML) investigative software and another in big data visualization. As part of the big data viz work I was able to speak at a few conferences, videos linked below.Finally, as Managing Partner, I played a key role running the Uncharted business and had me involved in strategic direction setting, staffing, policy setting, recruitment, HR, and operations management.

Responsible for principal technical design and development for Pressly's second generation client-facing web application. The app had to support and be performant on a wide range of mobile devices and browsers during a period where "single page web applications" were mostly confined to the desktop and Android phones shipped with buggy Webkit nightlies. My work involved Ember.js (way-pre-1.0 through 1.8), detailed understanding of the browser layout and paint engines for performance optimization, designing an automated application modular build system to allow our clients to create custom versions of their end-user apps, optimizing page-load speed and time-to-first pixel over 3G networks, and creating beautiful reading experiences.I also wrote a Samsung Connected TV sports app and worked on the Pressly publisher dashboard (Angular)
