Since 2002, Robert Heard has been a Managing Director of Cimarron Capital Partners, an Oklahoma City-based fund of funds manager that provides venture capital and private equity investment services. In addition, Mr. Heard is the Chair of Development Capital Networks, where he served as a Managing Member for eight years. In 1994, he founded Edge Development Capital, the predecessor of Cimarron Capital Partners. During his career, Robert Heard has co-authored several practical guides on venture investing, including “Seed Investing as a Team Sport,” “Swing for the Fences–Seed Investing for Entrepreneurs,” “Growing New Businesses with Seed and Venture Capital–State Experiences and Options,” the “Innovation Finance Reference Guide,” and “Mexico Fund of Funds Analysis and Recommendations.” Mr. Heard frequently speaks on such topics as capital formation, portfolio optimization, and state venture capital strategies. He has presented at meetings of the National Governors’ Association, the Council of Development Finance Agencies, the Brazilian Association of Capital Markets Analysts, and the Institute for International Research, among others. Robert Heard is an active volunteer. He is currently a member of the National Advisory Council of the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer, and he previously acted as its Marketing Committee Chair. From 2000 to 2002, Mr. Heard was a member of the Advisory Committee for the Entrepreneurship Institute of the National Governors’ Association. He also served as Board Director for the Council of Development Finance Agencies for four years. Robert Heard attended the University of Oklahoma, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Ethical and Religious Studies. Robert Heard completed his Master of Business Administration at the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
