About Robert-Jan Scheer

I represent the Netherlands at the development committee of the OECD and at the International Energy Agency in Paris. Until 2019 I led the strategic policy development in the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs related to Africa. Prior to this position I worked on international trade, corporate social responsibility and agriculture and food security. Before that I pioneered our work on public private partnerships and institutional development. Prior to joining the ministry I worked in Bolivia, Senegal, Burkina Faso and Zambia (between 1983 and 1996). I have been a board member of the Dutch Sustainable Trade initiative (IDH) and an advisory member of the ILO/IFC Better Work program. I was one of the founding members of the INCLUDE platform focusing on social inclusion in development. Key expertise: International relations, private sector development, food security, agriculture, public private partnerships, institutional development, Trade and development, WTO, Sustainable Trade.
