With 20 years of experience in environmental consulting, I specialize in driving top-line growth by building and managing teams of water resources, water/wastewater, and stormwater professionals that capture market share by expanding into new geographies, diversifying service offerings, and broadening client portfolios. Further, I am adept at working with underperforming teams, developing and implementing corrective actions to stem revenue loss, recapturing lost market share, and rebuilding client relationships. With a natural passion for learning, I quickly grasp new concepts, which has enabled me to be comfortable leading technically diverse teams composed of scientists, engineers, hydrogeologists, and planners. I have extensive experience successfully leading and guiding the pursuit, capture, and execution of a variety of municipal utility projects such as feasibility studies, permitting, engineering design, and construction services that span the spectrum from water resources and stormwater management to the collection, distribution, and treatment of potable water and wastewater. My core areas of technical expertise include ecosystem restoration, freshwater wetland ecology, coastal ecology, and watershed management. I have worked on some of the nation’s largest ecosystem restoration programs, such as the Florida Everglades, as well as local stream restoration and monitoring projects. I have substantial capabilities in experimental design, implementation and optimization of monitoring programs, and statistical analysis. My experience includes planning, design and permitting of restoration and resilience projects, which have often incorporated a multi-functional approach to shoreline protection that mitigates flood risk; restores or enhances ecological condition; and provides tangible socioeconomic benefits. I have worked with public and private clients on a variety of projects to enhance resilience to rising sea levels. This includes efforts developing plans to adapt to the impacts of recurrent flooding and mitigate future risks from storm surge induced flooding through a combination of strategies and policies that not only reduce vulnerability risk on a localized level, but which also work together holistically to yield regional benefits. I have also supported studies to evaluate how specific strategies or certain outcomes can have significant implications on growth and stability by shifting the burden for adaptation disproportionately among individuals, businesses, and government entities or even among socioeconomic classes.

Associate Vice President | Water/Wastewater Section HeadJohnson, Mirmiran & Thompson Apr 2024 - PresentServing Clients Across The Us, UsTasked with building and leading a team of water and wastewater professionals in Florida. Based out of the Fort Lauderdale office, the initial focus is working with clients in south Florida, particularly within Broward County. JMT is full-service engineering firm with nearly 2,300 employees in offices nationwide. In Florida the company is a highly respected provider of transportation design, water resources, and CEI services. As the Water/Wastewater Section Head, I have been tasked with the challenge of expanding the company's service footprint in Florida, which will require leveraging JMT's excellent reputation for its highly responsive service, the exceptional caliber of their technical expertise, and an ability to consistently deliver within negotiated budgets and on time. JMT offers a fresh new choice to clients in the area for their engineering partner. -

Senior Manager, Municipal Engineering | Florida Water Practice Area ManagerRk&K May 2018 - Dec 2020Baltimore, Md, UsLead the introduction of the firm into the Florida municipal water market, where it had previously not had any presence. Established, grew and managed the water/wastewater/stormwater practice based out of the office I opened in Fort Lauderdale. Drove the growth of the practice using a strategy that aligned firm resources with targeted client opportunities. Recruited technical staff members, including two hydrogeologists that brought new capabilities to the firm, expanding its service offerings across all its geographies. In addition to hydrogeology, the team provided a range of planning, engineering, and construction management services with a focus on design of potable water distribution and wastewater collection systems constructed using trenchless technologies. As the firm's structure was highly decentralized and office/practice focused, I also developed and implemented operational policies and procedures for the Florida water practice as these were generally absent on a firmwide basis. This effort included development of: standard QAQC procedures; standard fee development spreadsheets that automatically calculated project multiplier and estimated profit; as well as branded standard deliverable templates and related branding guideline. These operational and branding standards were adopted to ensure that the practice delivered work consistent with the firm's well-established reputation for technical excellence and responsive service as wel as adhering with its corporate brand identity. -
