Among other things, I am a Career Coach and resume writer. My passion is helping people find work they love. I wrote my first resume (my own) at 18. I don't know how good it was, but I've never been out of work by choice for more than two and a half weeks in my entire life.In my first teaching job, I taught almost everything in the General Ed catalog of that school. One day I was asked to teach a coursed called "Job-Search Skills." It was there I learned the finer points of resume writing and interviewing. I wrote resumes for the students or taught them how to write their own. I also set up mock interviews.That job ended and I tried my hand at Elementary Education. After a few years I realized that wasn't my path and I returned to Adult Education. Soon upon returning I was asked to teach Job-Skills again at the South Bay Career Center. They were so happy with my work I was offered my own classes. For four years, twice a week, four hours a day, I taught people from all levels and types of professions. I wrote hundreds of resumes and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Unfortunately, the Great Recession ended that job and I returned to the classroom teaching English as a Second Langauge and then helped students pass their GEDs.In 2021, I moved to Chicago. I met my business partner, Siam Pasarly, at a Writer's Meet-Up. We co-authored Be Your Own Boss, and I edited two more of his books. We then started KaarPoh Staffing and Viral Resumes and I am back to my love of resume writing.Much has changed since my return, and I love learning new things.
