In May 2022 I joined AYBL Group as Interim CFO.Prior to that over 25 years experience at KPMG.Chief Operating Officer, National Markets (2013-20)National Markets ('NM') is KPMG’s regional business across all functions and geographies and includes the Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare ('IGH') business. I was a member of the NM Board, with responsibility for managing the P&L including budgeting/forecasting and risk management. A key part of the role was operating as CFO for NM; challenging the Board around investments, promotions and recruitment (incl diversity), working capital improvements and regular performance management.Key achievements:✓ I successfully managed the Private Enterprise strategy and investment, which contributed to significant revenue growth (5 year CAGR 8%).✓ I led the development of a suite of new MI and KPI’s to provide actionable insight and support better decision making to improve profitability and cash flow, with more forward looking focus. ✓ I worked jointly with the Head of NM to build a strong, effective, collegiate Board with a common purpose of increasing overall profitability. ✓ I quickly turned around a number of demotivated back-office teams to create a strong management team that operated in a commercially agile way, whilst at the same time putting some fun back into work. ✓ I led the COVID-19 response team to commercially manage and quickly prioritise the successful delivery of a number of significant emergency projects supporting Government.UK Head of Business Insight (2018-19)An interim role to support the wider business to remain focused on commercial improvements whilst a new operating model was implemented. My role included leading the MI Centre of Excellence.Key achievements:✓ Instigated a firm wide productivity review supported by newly developed KPIs that improved productivity and profitability.✓ Implementation of an MI Strategy for the firm.✓ I led the development of a new firm-wide resourcing MI tool to better manage 12,000 client facing staff.✓
