As a life-long Chicagoan and a second-generation Chicago attorney, I am dedicated to doing the most good for the greatest number of people. That’s why I was drawn to bankruptcy law. My passion is helping families restructure and eliminate debt, save their homes, and start fresh through bankruptcy debt relief. Respect goes a long way, and I strive to build trust with my clients by showing them utmost compassion throughout the entire legal process. I believe in standing up to the credit industry looking to take advantage of individual borrowers, and helping those borrowers emerge debt-free. While I love being a lawyer, I love being a father even more. My goal is to teach my children the value and importance of helping others and giving back to the community. As part of this commitment to give back, my family and I started the Robert J. Semrad Foundation as a way to support the communities Debtstoppers serves. Many of our clients come from underprivileged communities, so this foundation is a way for us to not only give back to these communities, but also to spotlight the causes we support and shine a light on the people behind those causes. We hope learning more about these causes and those who are making a difference will inspire others to reach out and give back to their own communities.
