Robert represents prominent pharmaceutical, medical device, automotive, and electronics companies in patent enforcement and defense actions. He handles all facets of litigation, including pre-filing investigations, claim construction, fact and expert discovery, dispositive motion practice, and trial. Most recently, Robert argued for a major Tier 1 automotive supplier as Petitioner in an inter partes review, where he secured a judgment of unpatentability on all challenged claims directed to a competitor’s patented driveshaft technology. Robert has been involved in landmark patent cases. He was integral to the team that resolved the debate over patent venue, including the Federal Circuit’s decision on “regular and established place of business.” Robert is an active member of professional and philanthropic organizations in Chicagoland. Robert is an active member of the Richard Linn American Inn of Court. He also serves on the Auxiliary Board of the Chicago Council on Science and Technology (C2ST), whose mission is to enhance the public’s understanding and appreciation of science and technology and their impact on society.Robert graduated as Valedictorian from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where he was an active member of the Intellectual Property Law Society.
