Primary responsibility for the leadership and strategic direction of the AMA Insurance Company and the AMA Insurance Agency, including the creation and delivery of personal and commercial insurance products, underwriting and administration services consistent with the strategic goals and objectives to ensure relevancy for the membership and long term viability for the Association. Lines of business included personal and commercial automobile, personal and commercial property, AD&D and umbrella liability. The trading area includes Alberta, Manitoba and incidental exposures in other provinces.Accomplishments:• Provided leadership, strategic direction and operational management for 650+ staff across all aspects of P&C underwriting, pricing, marketing, claims, sales and distribution• Managed key insurance relationships including the identification of reinsurance needs and managing the reinsurance relationships• Represented AMA with industry bodies, regulators, government officials, vendors and other business partners• Maintained fiscal accountability for the overall Insurance Services costs and expenses.• Maintained operational accountability for Insurance Services policies, practices and procedures• Grew direct written premium from $250 million to $327 million• Expanded customer satisfaction surveys and NPS methodology to sales and distribution in addition to claims service and launched on-line email based surveys, increasing focus on the customer experience• Led a complete restructuring of Contact centre sales and service operation including implementation of defined roles and career path for agents; revised and defined performance metrics and goals; and a revised variable pay program to support those goals• Led an recruiting initiative to position AMA Insurance as the preferred insurance employer in the Alberta market

Responsible for the leadership, strategic direction and financial management of the Insurance Company Claims Department and maintained overall responsibility for ensuring that corporate and business unit policies, procedures and guidelines were enforced; staffing requirements and productivity were assessed and managed, and that fiscal obligations were met.
