Directed all of the financial activities, strategic planning, corporate development and home office services for the mortgage company. Responsibilities included financial strategy, strategic planning, acquisitions, balance sheet management, funding, budgeting and control functions, capital markets accounting, financial reporting, tax position, facilities, purchasing and interoffice delivery system.

Provided support for a broad range of issues and areas important to the Executive Vice President in charge of South Central Banking. Responsibilities included the financial analysis, reporting of actual performance and financial opportunities, coordinating the strategic plan, operating budgets and financial forecasts for the strategic plan, operating budgets and financial forecasts for the South Central Banking businesses.

Directed the merger and acquisition for various banking regions, the mortgage company, asset-based lending and corporate trust functions for Norwest Corporation. Responsibilities included preparation and implementation of a strategic acquisition plan and the management of all phases of an acquisition including negotiation, due diligence, transition and post-acquisition stages. Major achievements included development of a strategic acquisition plan for the banking regions and successful completion of acquisitions within banking regions, mortgage company, asset-based lending and corporate trust functions of Norwest Corporation.

Directed the financial and operating affairs of a troubled $2.5 billion multi-bank holding company. Responsibilities included development and implementation of strategies that assisted in the turnaround of the financial and operating performance of the company. Major achievements included development of a capital and strategic plan; revising and implementing ALCO policy and procedures; developing and managing the liquidity plan for the lead bank by restructuring investment and loan portfolios and the deposit liability structure, all of which were approved by respective regulatory agencies. Successfully renegotiated parent company debt; developed strong credible relations with major analytical and investment firms; revised Board and regulatory reporting and budget/profit planning processes. Restructured operating departments and implemented a new control-oriented culture.

Managed the administrative and financial functions of the bank. Responsibilities included managing the Financial, Human Resources, Operations and Data Processing, Legal and Compliance, and Facilities Departments of the bank. Successfully completed the transition plan for TrustCorp Bank, Ann Arbor into Society Corporation, including the implementation of policies, procedures, controls and cost-saving programs.

Directed the financial activities of a troubled $5.9 billion multi-bank holding company. Major achievements included developing and implementing capital, profit, cash flow plans and financial controls, all of which were approved by the Federal Reserve Bank. Rebuilt credibility with regulators, investment firms and rating agencies. Successfully assisted the completion of the merger with Society Corporation.

Directed the financial and selected administrative activities of a multi-bank holding company. Responsibilities over a fourteen-year period included the financial, operations and data processing, purchasing, auditing and corporate trust functions of the corporation. Achievements included the formation of a bank holding company and the successful acquisition of two banks with a total of $225 million in assets. Developed the board, management reporting and the budget/profit planning processes. Successfully reorganized the Operations Department and developed an in-house data processing department to handle the day-to-day operations of a multi-bank holding company.

Managed audits that included supervision of personnel, review and evaluation of internal control, and preparation and analysis of financial statements. Diversified audit experience including SEC audits and registration statements.
