At Upland, Rob works on business development and brokerage sales/leasing in retail, office, medical, hospitality, industrial, land and development sourcing. He has over 25 years commercial real estate experience in property management, consulting, corporate services, development, and brokerage. Throughout his career, Rob has leased, sold, consulted on, and purchased more than 5 million square feet of office, medical, hotel, retail, industrial and multifamily residential projects. He has completed transactions representing tenants/landlords such as Ecolab, University of Minnesota Physicians, Summit Orthopedics, The Good Clinic, US Bank, Town Hall Ventures, HealthEast/Fairview Medical/M Health, Robins Kaplan LLP, St. Paul Companies/Travelers, Lumber Liquidators, Trader Joe’s, McDonald’s, Lumber Liquidators, Kmart/Seritage, Dollar Tree, Foot Locker, Anytime Fitness, The Hamm Family (Saint Paul, MN), Yellow Tree (MN), Sentinel (MN), Ackerberg Group (MN), Continental Properties (WI), Seritage (NY), Nightingale (NY), The Dubin Group (Chicago) and Harlem Irving/CA Ventures (Chicago). Most recently, as VP of Commercial at Sherman Associates, Rob was responsible for all office, industrial and retail leasing in the firm’s portfolio. Prior to joining Sherman Associates, Rob began his career as a property manager and leasing agent with The Palmer Group of the Twin Cities, Ltd. (based in Chicago and Minneapolis), which was purchased by Frauenshuh Companies (Minneapolis). After Frauenshuh, Rob worked for 10 years with United Properties. Rob was a part owner in four office buildings in downtown Saint Paul, MN which all sold successfully after holding. Rob is past Secretary/Treasurer for the St. Joseph’s School of Music, Class Chair for Saint John’s University and Past President of the Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors. He has served on NAIOP, BOMA and CCIM. Rob was publicly elected onto a St. Paul, MN Planning Council District. Rob has been a sought-after speaker regarding the development/lease-up process and the historic tax credit/affordable tax credit process. In the past several years, he has been a presenter at MNCAR, BOMA and the University of St. Thomas graduate school. Rob enjoys spending time with friends and family, biking, boating, swimming, and walking- in the city, or at his cabin in northern Minnesota. He was always a bit of a thrill seeker being a motorcyclist, barefoot water skier, licensed private pilot and a PADI certified scuba diver. He now enjoys more reading, music, politics, architecture, art and too much food.
