Robert Landeros, Ph.D. is Professor Emeritus at Western Michigan University and a retired educator and administrator. He joined Western Michigan University in 1989. During his tenure at WMU, he helped pioneer many college initiatives, including the nationally renowned integrated supply management program and the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. In 1989, Dr. Landeros and faculty from marketing and engineering developed the University's renowned integrated supply management (ISM) program. In 2012, he was appointed director of the fledgling Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. In recent years, the ISM program has repeatedly raked in accolades from Gartner as one of the best in the country and a national leader in supply chain education. Dr. Landeros served as the original director of ISM, developing and teaching production management courses that still serve as its foundation—upon stepping down as director, bestowed him the honorary title of director emeritus. Additionally, the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation operates Starting Gate, the WMU student business accelerator; holds the annual Bronco PITCH Competition for all WMU students; helps support Entrepreneurship Forum, a monthly community event; and helps assist students who major or minor in entrepreneurship.As chair of the Department of Management from 2009 to 2020, Dr. Landeros has overseen growth in endowments, the creation of new curricula, and the enhancement of existing courses—giving students the tools to explore management concepts in real-world contexts. During Dr. Landeros's tenure at WMU, he was a John Deere Senior Research Fellow and a Visiting Professor of Logistics at the Norwegian School of Management. Dr. Landeros has been on the faculty at Arizona State University and the Norwegian School of Management. He has also held visiting faculty appointments at universities in Latin America, Europe, Scandinavia, and the former Soviet Union. His supply management research appears in The Journal of Supply Chain Management, International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management, Operations Management Review, Journal of Business Ethics, Computers & Industrial Engineering, Production and Operations Management, International Journal of Purchasing and Materials Management, Journal of Computer Information Systems, Journal of Business Logistics. Dr. Landeros was a principal investigator on a National Consortium for Technology in Business grant.

He manages a budget of $2.6 million and scholarship endowments valued at just under $1 million. Dr. Landeros participates with the tenured faculty to review non-tenured faculty for tenure and promotion and part-time faculty for future teaching assignments. During his tenure, he led eleven successful faculty searches. The search process aimed to identify new colleagues whose research would complement and expand the current faculty's research focus. As such, Dr. Landeros charted the Department's future, resulting in one-third of the department's new faculty who changed the Management Department's face and gender.
