𝗪𝗛𝗢 𝗜𝗦 𝗥𝗢𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗧 𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗢𝗦:I am an American CEO and a proud Mexican immigrant. My experiences taught me the strength found in overcoming struggles. Life’s challenges can transform into stepping stones, guiding us toward a meaningful and extraordinary life.𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗟𝗬 𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗘:When I was one, my parents carried me across the Mexican-American border with nothing but hope and the clothes on their backs—a leap of faith that would define my life. Growing up as a young immigrant in Pauma Valley, California, I faced big dreams and even bigger obstacles. My parents’ sacrifices ignited a determination in me to honor their risk and make it all worthwhile.𝗘𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡:Education has shaped my path. I earned a B.A. in Spanish with a Business minor from USC in 1997, marking the start of my climb. Completing an executive M.B.A. at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business in 2014 tested and rewarded my perseverance.𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗥 & 𝗖𝗘𝗢 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧:As CEO, I oversee a $50M budget and $2B in insurance coverage for government employees. Over 26 years, I’ve led nonprofit and for-profit enterprises by fostering values-driven leadership that prioritizes people and inspires positive change. Leadership, to me, is about navigating challenges with strategy, empathy, and adaptability.Strategic vision directs my decisions.
