Certified Energy Specialist
My duties as an Energy Specialist required me to perform on-site day and nighttime audits. Maintaining and updating all energy management systems (EMS) like i-Vu Carrier EMS controls, Structureware EMS, External Light Timers, Weathermatic EMS, Hunter, and Rain Bird controls. I utilized the latest technology relating to energy consumption, utility usage, and EMS data to identify energy consumption and make recommendations to the client leadership for general energy conservation measures. It was fun going through interval data in Energy Cap, Southern California Edison, SoCal Gas, and Solar websites to identify high energy usage, resulting in over one-million, one hundred thousand in savings. When it came to entering and analyzing all utility bills to ensure saving measurements were accurate, I was able to dispute charged discrepancies. The savings resulted in recovering over forty-thousand and was reimbursed to the client. I would meet with the Program Liaison at least once monthly to report and coordinated with internal and external Public Relations groups utilizing all media and communication opportunities that promoted the program's successes, work orders process, safety hazards observations, and site consumption. I made it a point to maintain open communications with client leadership, facilities, information technologies (IT), maintenance, and custodial staff to talk about any comfort or technical issues effectively. It was my duty to coordinate with the Maintenance Director regarding EMS, HVAC systems, work orders, and irrigation updates. When it came to working with outside contractors, I was able to organize and manage multiple energy savings projects to help fix, upgrade old operating systems.
