Initiated and implemented a program to elevate the writing, design and focus of company newsletters. I closed unprofitable letters and overhauled much of the staff. In my first year I was recognized by our industry group with first and second place awards for overhauls of our flagship publication, Personal Finance, and for Canadian Edge. In my second year our publications virtually swept our industry group's awards. Have worked closely with marketing to create successful new letters and to go from shrinking sales to rapidly growing sales.

Writer, researcher and national speaker for the Center, which has initiatives in using behavioral finance to improve retirement savings plans and to help retirees avoid mistakes in managing their finances. Work also included speaking across the country on 401(k) improvements to plan administrators and advisers, and also introduced the Center's Retirement Trail program.

For almost three years wrote the popular Your Mind & Your Money column on behavioral finance/investor psychology. Produced the magazine's annual "Best Cities" project for six years. Produced the annual "Mutual Funds" special newsstand issue for seven years. Edited the magazine's consumer finance section, Spending. Wrote a variety of articles on investments, including many cover stories on mutual funds and other investments.

Business editor of the Democrat and Chronicle and the Times-Union, the Gannett Co. daily newspapers in Rochester, N.Y., with a combined circulation of 200,000 weekdays, 270,000 weekends. Work entailed managing a staff of fifteen, which each week produced a special business feature section, a Home and Real Estate section, five daily sections and a Sunday section.
