Student research assistant to two professors projects. The first project is generating a synthetic natural gas through a process called steam hydrogasification. The biomass fuel being studied is dried woody materials, which is then combined with a controlled amount of water and then the vessel is pressurized with hydrogen gas. Lastly the entire vessel is heated up with a magnetic coil and the volatile organic compounds that are produced in gaseous form are collected and studied separately for viability as a source of renewable energy.The second project I participate in is a computer simulation of nanoparticle interactions. Specifically, I create scenarios of boron and aluminum cores being heated in different scenarios and comparing and contrasting the reactions. I have gone to student research conferences to present the findings of both of these projects.

Performed carbon sequestration research utilizing the synchrotron to generate nano-scale tomographic images which were then used to create 3D renderings of porous material and used to run computational fluid dynamics simulations. This was performed on site over the summer and continued in remote work while attending school the following semester in order to present our geologic findings at the AGU 2023 conference.
