I covered k-12, higher ed, retail/real estate, and cultural affairs. My column "Northwest Passage" often covered American Indian issues.

Nightlife, entertainment and features reporter. After finding myself suddenly single, I thought I was getting scolded by my boss for telling to many dating disaster stories in the newsroom. She told me to starting writing them down and that started the "Single Minded" column. When the Miami Herald's single column had to retire due to marriage, Knight Ridder syndicated my column for about 18 months. Then I retired to move in with my future wife.
