LenelS2 resulted from the acquisition of S2 Security by United Technologies in 2018. The combined organization is a leader in advanced physical security solutions, including access control, video surveillance, and mobile credentialing.I joined S2 in 2016, and was responsible for development and market introduction of VRx, a new full-featured and ONVIF-conformant video recorder and video management system. In addition to features commonly offered by video management systems, it offered a web based management interface; deep learning-based object detection; and integration with Cumulus, our cloud based monitoring system.

Responsible for all Engineering-related activity (Development, QA, and Documentation) at VidSys, Inc. Led all architecture, design, and implementation activities for every VidSys software release since 2007, including the introduction of the Industry’s first Security Information Management (PSIM) offering, and its only purely Web-based solution.VidSys’s primary product is a PSIM System that integrates video, access control, alarms, and supporting information to give Physical Security Professionals a complete and consistent operational picture. We offer the industry’s only web-based PSIM solution. It has a Java/Tomcat backend stack that leverages many open source projects including Hibernate, Spring, JBoss Rules, postgreSQL, and CouchDB; and a Javascript/HTML/CSS frontend stack that leverages the latest HTML5 technologies.Introduced offshore development to the company, integrating a Mexico-based outsourcing provider into our development organization and process. Consistently released software on time and within budget. Over the past 2 years, have transitioned the company to a Scrum-based Agile process, with Continuous Integration (Jenkins), Agile Scheduling and Tracking (JIRA/Greenhopper), Automated Testing (TestNG and Selenium), and regular Security Scanning (Veracode). Originally hired as Software Director. Promoted to Vice President of Engineering during my tenure.

Managed software projects and led software teams for a variety of large scale networking products, including Content Delivery, WAN Acceleration, and Access Control. Directly managed software teams ranging in size from 10 to 25, and managed projects with up to 100 developers and QA Engineers at multiple sites, including offshore developers in India. Software stack leverages open-source and proprietary software developed in a variety of programming languages (Java, C, Javascript, HTML/CSS, and Bash Scripting) on Linux appliances. These software products continue to be used at many of the largest and well-known companies and government agencies in the world.

Managed the development of the Medical Imaging Industry’s first-ever MS Windows-based Nuclear Medicine Imaging System, designed from the ground up with an entirely new architecture using modern technologies. Originally hired as a developer, promoted to Software Manager when the previous attempt to modernize our product line failed. With our product manager, led engineering efforts to envision, architect, design, and develop the product from the ground up. Interviewed customers and industry experts, led usability testing of concepts with end users, and introduced new processes and practices for software development.Represented Nuclear Medicine in Siemens’ Multi-Modality Medical Imaging software group. Leveraged common software modules developed for other imaging modalities (PET, CT, MRI), in an innovative and patented workflow-based architecture to address the unique requirements of Nuclear Medicine. Led efforts to develop all-new development processes to comply with FDA and ISO quality standards. Led joint development efforts with Toshiba Medical Systems, which adopted our new architecture for their own product line.
