I am a committed and motivated manager, scrum master and software engineer leading a team of 10 people improving the integration experience of those integrating with Mastercard's Gateway product. Most of my 30+ year career I have specialised in brownfield development helping companies to keep the lights on by enhancing, upgrading, migrating or retiring their existing software, initially as a software engineer but for the last decade as a hands on team lead/manager. My personal side project for the last 6 months has been reducing open source vulnerabilities in legacy Java code. Specialities: SAFe Agile, Java, Maven, Jenkins/CI, relational databases, LinuxAside from my day job I am a volunteer event director, run director and core team member for parkrun, which takes up my Saturdays. I am also a keen runner, swimmer and triathlete. When I get to sit down, I enjoy reading science fiction and learning German on Duolingo.
