When I moved to Victoria I took a position with Bell as a store manager of one of the company’s largest stores. The store had been on the decline in sales for 4 years prior to me taking over. In less than one year I was able to not only stop the decline, but led our store to its first increase in revenue in 5 years. As manager, I am in charge of everything that goes on in the store from top to bottom. I have two employees who are in the top 5% of all sales rep in Canada and have remained in the top 10 BC stores month over month for the last year. I attribute our success to my team and my management style. I am a servant leader; I work as hard as I can every day for my reps so they can be successful. I believe in an equal balance of fun and work and do not believe the two are mutually exclusive. As a side project I am also one of 3 managers partnered up with a head office executives as part as a nationwide “FUN Committee”. Since coming on board I archived the second highest single sale in the history of the company, just over $120,000. I have since worked with large companies and was able to negotiate a deal in which 4 families in Alberta won free rent for 12 months, a prize valued at over $40,000.
